Costume specifications

Tell a maker exactly what to build.

BWO is one specification tool for custom character costumes. Choose a product type, and the form asks only about the pieces that apply. The result is a brief a maker can quote and build from.

Start a specification
  1. 1. Choose a product type. Fursuits, mascots, other character pieces, plush, cosplay, theater, and corporate and event pieces are available. Another product type is another pack on this same form.
  2. 2. Design the character. Scope, colors, construction, materials, and fit. Tap a reference picture or the body outline to pin where a detail has to sit.
  3. 3. Review the brief. Required gaps stay visible. Open choices are labeled for the maker.
  4. 4. Download it. Markdown, JSON, a project zip with images, or a printable page. Related pieces can be grouped into a set and downloaded together.
  5. 5. Ask a maker. Create an account, then send one brief or a whole set. The listing and the requests you send stay with that account, and a quote connects the two people. Reference images go with the request, and either person can mark a spot on one when they reply. While the request is still open, you can replace the brief from the specifications in this browser. Accept the figure when it is right, and download the commission. BWO does not take payment.

A set is several specifications a maker should open together. Each piece stays its own brief.

Your specifications

A specification stays with your account, so another computer can open it after you sign in. Download a project zip if you want a copy outside BWO.
